Aventon Level Step-Through Commuter Ebike Description
The Level Step-Through is designed for riders who rate comfort and ease-of-use as highly as they do functionality. Built-in fenders, a versatile rack, and ride tempering front suspension mean that, wherever you go, you'll be riding in comfort, carrying all you need, whilst safely protected from the elements below.
With the same technology under the hood as our beloved Level Commuter ebike, but with a lower center of gravity and a step-through for the less able-bodied amongst us, the Level Step-Through will keep up with the traffic during the week and even the fastest of grandchildren on the weekend.

Level ships as a Class III ebike. If you are riding on private property or in an area without ebike speed restrictions, the speed limit can be modified in the settings. The level will also operate with the throttle unplugged and removed, should you want to ride in an area where throttles are not allowed.
Aventon ebikes are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride or park your ebike in the rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be submerged or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike.

Throttle On Demand (TOD)

The Rider can choose between these two throttle options using the display.

Throttle On Demand: If your LEVEL can throttle from a complete stop, then your ebike is set to the Throttle On Demand functionality and should download the respective Quick Start Guide and Owner's Manual.
- Throttle After Pedal: If you want to start pedaling before the throttle can be engaged and not throttle from a complete stop, then your ebike has Throttle After Pedal functionality and should download the respective Quick Start Guide and Owner's Manual.

Getting Started

Getting Started
First, turn on the power switch on the battery itself. Then press and hold the “M” button on the control pad for 3 seconds to power up the system. While the bike and display are powered on, press and hold “M” for 3 seconds to turn off.
The LEVEL E-Bike offers pedal assist. When using pedal assist, an electric motor supplements the rider’s own effort. To use the pedal assist, simply start pedaling, then tap the “UP” or “DOWN” arrows to increase or decrease the amount of pedal assist. Pedal assist will engage at speeds up to 28 MPH.
The LEVEL E-Bike is equipped with a throttle, which is mounted near the rider’s left thumb, to propel the bike without pedaling. The throttle can propel you at speeds up to 20 MPH.
Throttle On Demand: You have the "Throttle On Demand" option, where you can engage the throttle anytime including from a complete stop while in PAS 1 through 5. However, we strongly encourage you to pedal first before engaging the throttle.
Throttle After Pedal: You also have the "Throttle After Pedal" option, where you can engage the throttle after you begin pedaling. Once the bike is moving on throttle power, you can stop pedaling entirely and use your thumb to control the speed of the bike.
The motor stops when you: stop pedaling, squeeze the brake levers, or release the throttle. Simply start pedaling again to re-engage the motor.
Battery & Charging
We recommend charging the battery off the bike indoors, in moderate temperature conditions. To charge the battery, plug the charger into the charging port and then connect the charger to a wall outlet. The LED indicator light will be red when charging and will turn green when charging is complete.

Properly maintaining your LEVEL ensures it’s longevity and smooth operation. Here is our recommended ebike maintenance guide and schedule. Safety
You should wear an approved bicycle helmet every time you ride a bicycle, regardless of the legal requirement to do so. Additionally, some jurisdictions require helmet use when riding Class III E-Bikes like the LEVEL. You should comply with local law when riding your Aventon bicycle.
