Eunorau Fat-HS Description

Are you looking for a high-performance mid-drive electric mountain bike with full suspension? Do you need the highest quality components to meet the off-road challenges you take on?

Well, check out the new Fat-HS from Eunorau (pronounced U-Nor-O). This full-suspension e-MTB is simply awesome. The Fat-HS was designed and engineered around the unparalleled power and performance of the Bafang BBSHD 1000W engine. This motor is preferred by bowhunters for its quiet operation and incredible output. The Fat-HS also features a highly sensitive cadence sensor, which measures vehicle speed, ensuring precise control of the bike while achieving the highest possible mid-motor efficiency.

The new Bafang mid-drive electric motor looks similar to other mid-drive electric bicycle motors from Bosch, Panasonic and Brose, but it's a next-generation ebike motor like no other. Don't be fooled by the 1,000W nominal motor output specification; under the hood, the Bafang motor is capable of pulling 1,600W from the battery using its stock settings.

Electrified Review of Fat-HS

Brent McCluskey from Electrified Review just came out with their 2021 review or the Fat-HS - and it's awesome. You can read the full review here, and check out the video below. Brent says that the Fat-HS is a "fat tire mud machine is also incredibly fast and torquey, and is overall just a really cool ebike. This thing is just perfect for deep backwoods exploring."

Very Impressive Full-Suspension Fat Tire Mid-Drive

The Fat-HS is a premium fat tire electric bike, with excellent components and a heavy-duty build quality. I have ridden the Fat-HS for about a month now, taking it on some pretty rough trails. It has performed admirably, and I am very happy with my purchase. There was one small issue with the display, but Steve was able to get it resolved quickly.

Followup to 23 Feb review by Ed C.

I have had the bike for a month, just over 100 miles total, and am still very happy with it. First off, followup by Kelsey on the battery that was on back order since received was great. I get over 30 miles of range on a single battery with pedal assist set about equally between 1 or 2 with occasional bouts of the manual throttle. That range exceeded my expectations especially since I am riding the bike when it is in the high 40s low 50 degree temps outside. I have not run out of power even on some really steep hills but proper gear selection is important. I have not tried the dual battery setup yet. That will come with warmer weather and longer trips and certainly after I add the trailer. I am definitely a fan of having both the pedal assist and the thumb throttle each has their strengths and I use both regularly I am still experimenting with suspension settings but so far I have had no problems. Just about every bump is smoothed out except for heavily washboarded dirt roads torn up by farm machinery and I don't think there is a suspension setup that works well on them. Would I buy this bike again...absolutely.

    Euronau FAT HS, Great

First impression Euronau Fat HS Ordering was painless. This is my first e-bike so I am afraid I pestered Steve at RGE quite a bit. He always responded quickly, graciously, and clearly so kudos. I am glad I took Steve’s advice and ordered the 17 inch frame versus the 19 inch frame. I was borderline on the size and the 19 inch frame would have been too big. This is a big bike. Looking at the bike it appears to be very well made. The welds are well done and there were no sharp metal edges anywhere on the bike. There are a lot of cables coming off the handle bars and I may try to do something to clean that up but it does not interfere with operation at all. Packaging. The bike came well packed and there was no damage at all. Any potential wear points were well padded and the padding secured to the frame by nylon self-locking cable ties. Do yourself a favor and grab something that will cut these ties easily, there are a bunch of them and using a razor knife could damage the finish of the bike so I grabbed a pair of diagonal wire cutters. I inventoried everything and then verified with RGE that the items that were missing were on back order. There was no packing list included in the box. I knew the spare battery was going to be backordered but did not know about the fenders and rear rack. With the supply system like it is this was pretty much understandable. I also got the spare wheel set, also well packed, which will be useful for when I am on pavement bike paths. Brake rotors were not part of the spare wheelset package and I do need to get the rotors for them so I won’t have to spend time swapping rotors from one wheel set to another. Assembly. The manual is typical for items made in China. It looked like they just used a translation program instead of an actual technical writer but you can puzzle out what the intent is pretty easily. I do wish they had specified actual torques for tightening instead of “firmly” but that is just my personal preference. The assembly tools that come with the bike are better quality than I expected. I did need to remove the display from the handlebars prior to handlebar installation on the stem. It was slightly mis-positioned and not centered on the bars. That prevented the handlebars from being centered. The display came off easily and made installing the handlebars much easier. I probably could have just loosened it a bit and moved it but getting it totally out of the way made things easier. Next came the wheels. There is a small shipping retainer in between the pads of the front disk brake that has to be removed. Easily done, just a cotter pin, but it is not mentioned in the assembly directions. Straightening the cotter pin, removing it from the disk brake, removing the shipping retainer, and reinstalling the cotter pin probably took less time than it took to write this sentence. Oh I did flip the bike wheels up to make the install a little easier. I loosened the display retaining screws just a bit and rotated it so I did not have the bike resting on the display when it was wheels up. The wheels installed easily. These are quick release axles and I am used to the axles not extending all the way through the drop outs so the quick release can function but these axles only extend halfway through the drop outs, quite a bit less than I am used to. We will see if that ends up being a problem during use. Seat went on with no problems whatsoever. Pedals were a bit of a problem. They are marked left and right but it looks like the starter threads on the crank were not cut as well as they could have been so I ended up having to firmly press the pedal into the threads while tightening the pedal nut. Easily done, just had to be careful about alignment so as not to cross thread the pedal. The display is pretty intuitive but was set to metric distances. I downloaded the directions to reprogram it (https://eunorau-ebike.com/pages/download) and the reprogramming to mph was easily done. The bike came with a headlight and taillight. Headlight is powered of the main battery and is bright enough to get you back home if you are careful but I would want something much brighter and with a wider beam if I were regularly riding at night. The taillight is powered by its own battery and was very visible. It has two modes when lit; always on and flashing. Battery. I did remove the battery from the bike to charge it and noticed that the charger fit into the charging port on the battery very loosely. Everything worked okay though. This is a different port than you use for charging when the battery is installed on the bike. The charger fit that port snugly. Again, both ports worked fine. First riding impressions. It is minus 7 F with the wind chill outside so the ride was pretty darn short. Everything worked very well right out of the box with no adjustments.

Very Impressive Fat Tire E-Mountain Bike

I am very impressed with the Fat-HS. I ordered the model with the dual battery configuration, and these two batteries work together to deliver a very long range per charge - 50+ miles in my experience. The motor is very powerful, and one the quietest ebike motors I heard. All the other components are top-notch, from the gears to brakes. Well done.
